Spaces, displays and Stage Manager are the real compatibility test

The visual trigger also has to avoid false positives. An edge shelf that appears during unrelated drags or hides too slowly adds irritation. Version 3.7 specifically improved responsiveness and automatic hiding, according to the developer’s release post.
Login launch is reasonable only after the trial succeeds. A utility that is not running when the awkward drag begins will never become a habit.
Yoink versus window tiling and Finder tabs
macOS offers several ways to make source and destination visible. Split View, Stage Manager, window tiling, Finder tabs and spring-loaded folders can all preserve a direct drag. These are free and sometimes faster.

This is the right shape of purchase for a focused local utility: a modest one-time price, a real trial and no account required for the central feature. Check the direct and App Store distribution options against update preference, but do not over-optimise a single-digit purchase.
The question is whether the shelf appears naturally during a normal week. If it must be remembered, even $8.99 is wasted. If it resolves several awkward drags each day, the price stops being interesting.
Bundle value should be calculated from applications that would be bought anyway. ScreenFloat, Transloader and DeskMat are not savings if they remain unopened.
A sensible first-week setup
The best configuration is intentionally boring. Put the shelf on the screen edge opposite the Dock, enable automatic appearance and leave its size near the default. Do not activate clipboard history, cross-device features and custom actions on the first day. The central drag workflow should prove itself before extra behaviour is added.
Use it on three specific tasks: move an attachment from Mail into a project folder, collect several images from a browser for a document and transfer files between two full-screen applications. After each task, empty the shelf. This establishes whether the intermediate step feels natural and prevents temporary material from turning into another inbox.
At the end of the week, review the failures. If the shelf did not appear, record the source application. If an item produced the wrong representation, record the destination. Those patterns tell you whether a manual shortcut, preview habit or exclusion will solve the issue. They also reveal when macOS itself is the limiting layer.
Only then enable history or mobile handoff. Adding features in response to a real repeated need keeps Yoink small, which is the quality that makes it worth using.
