The Deeper Cost: What We Lose When We Stop Observing

Beyond the practical implications for skin health, there’s a deeper loss at stake that’s worth articulating, even if it’s harder to quantify.

Self-observation is a form of self-knowledge. When you pay careful attention to your skin — or your digestion, or your energy levels — you’re engaged in an act of self-understanding. You’re learning not just about a biological organ but about yourself as a whole person: what stresses you, what nourishes you, how your body responds to the world.
